Flooding Is In The News A Lot. How Do I Know If My New Home Will Be At Risk?

The Environmental Search will establish whether the property is within a flood plain. It is important to know if a property is at risk, as this can have an adverse effect on insurance premiums, mortgage-ability and ultimately on re-sale value.

The basic search does not show whether the property will definitely be flooded in the future as it cannot assess the effectiveness of flood defences. However, if the initial search reveals a significant risk of flooding we will recommend a more detailed, specialist search. This is optional but highly advisable. The additional search would be charged as an additional, third party fee.
